Director’s Note
Kill Brass refers to the brass shell casing ejected from a rifle after a successful kill shot. They are kept as a trophy or memento by professional snipers. It is the physical manifestation of the moment where a life was taken.
“Kill Brass” the film, is an homage to 70’s male angst pictures like The Killer Elite, Cross of Iron or The Mechanic. Films in which tough guys living in a cruel world would face off against each other in honor bound rituals and confrontations. After the 60s cultural revolution, only in the movies were men still expected to be rough and tumble warriors ready to kill at the drop of a hat. This film tries to respect the tradition of those movies while at the same time modifying, updating & commenting on contemporary images of masculinity.
